The Sheep and Their Shepherd by Shawn Smith Have you ever wondered why Christians are called "sheep" throughout the Bible? It’s because sheep are known for their stupidity, for going astray and following others even it leads to their own death. Just like human beings, sheep make the same mistakes over and over again, which makes them easy prey for predators. In our daily lives, Satan and his evil realm are the predators, we are the prey (the Sheep), and Jesus Christ is our good Shepherd.
Through his dirty war, Satan leads us to believe that we can solve our own global problems. He manipulates reality so we think we can live in peace and harmony even when the Bible says that it will never happen. Anyone who studies the Bible knows that our statesmen cannot solve our problems, environmentalists cannot solve our problems, and world hunger will continue to exist no matter what we try. Mankind did not have in the past, does not have now, nor will it have in the future the capacity to resolve the differences that exist in this world. Satan, the father of sin and deception, has made it his business to try to blind us to that truth, and he has many children who are blind to the calling of Jesus Christ. They don’t realize they are the children of Satan, of course, because, unlike God, Satan is a deceiving father. Those children have become so wrapped up in the lies he peddles that, by their own free will, they have chosen allegiance to this deceiver. As Jesus explains:
