Evangelism

The Great Compromise by Greg Laurie.
Compromise is a Christian’s deadliest enemy. I have
met many Christians who fell by the wayside, but
I have never met a single one who fell down all
at once. In each case, the individual let their guard
down, one small compromise at a time. Eventually,
all those little compromises added up to create one
big one– the great compromise. That’s the one they
couldn’t pull out of – the one that eventually took
them down.

How to Give Away Your Faith,  by Paul E. Little.
A Christian doctor . . . took an informal, three-year
poll among his patients. He wanted to know what one
wish each would make if he were assured that his
wish would be granted. Peace of heart, mind, and
soul was the number one desire of 87 percent of
his patients. The phenomenal sale of religious books
also indicates this unmet need. People don’t have
inner peace, but they want it desperately.

Living Beyond the Limits A Life in Sync With God, by Franklin Graham.
Each person we meet on a daily basis who does not
know Christ is hell bound. That may make some folks
bristle – but it’s a fact. When we refuse to warn
people that their actions and lifestyles have
eternal consequences, we’re not doing them any
favors. If everybody feels good about his or her sin,
why would anyone repent?

Angels and Miracles

Guardian Angels - True Stories of Answered Prayers, by Joan Wester Anderson.

In the Arms of Angels - True Stories of Heavenly Guardians, by Joan Wester Anderson.

Miracles - How God Intervenes in Nature and Human Affairs, by C.S. Lewis. Lewis uses his remarkable logic to build a solid argument for the existence of divine intervention.
The question whether miracles occur can never be
answered simply by experience. Every event which might
claim to be a miracle is, in the last resort, something
presented to our senses, something seen, heard, touched,
smelled, or tasted. And our senses are not infallible.

The Power of Miracles - True Stories of God’s Presence, by Joan Wester Anderson.

Where Angels Walk - True Stories of Heavenly Encounters, by Joan Wester Anderson.

Christian Inspiration

Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul  - 101 Stories to Open the Heart and Rekindle the Spirit, by Jack Canfield & others.

The Heavens OpenedRevealing a Fresh Vision of God’s Love for You, by Anna Rountree.
Immediately ahead of us on the path was a burning light.
Hundreds of spirits surrounded this brilliance, darting
in and lifting out like eagles catching heat currents.
They were flying with the light as if escorting it.
So bright was this great light that it reduced the
spirits to silver outlines of themselves in its
radiance. Everything paled that was near this
intense brightness.

He Still Moves StonesEveryone Needs a Miracle, by Max Lucado. This book witnesses the tenderness of Christ and reminds us that what He did then (in the Bible), He is willing to do today.

Leap Over a Wall - Earthy Spirituality for Everyday Christians, by Eugene H. Peterson. The author uses stories from David’s epic life as vivid lessons in everyday faith and spirituality.

Laugh Again – Experience Outrageous Joy, by Charles R. Swindoll.
When our world begins to get too serious, we need
momentary interruptions of just plain fun. A
surprising day off, a long walk in the woods,
a movie, an enjoyable evening relaxing with a
friend over a bowl of popcorn, a game of
racquetball or golf–these diversions can make
all the difference in our ability to cope with
life’s crushing demands. We need to give
ourselves permission to enjoy various moments
in life even though all of life is not in
perfect order. This takes practice, but it’s
worth the effort. It helps break guilt’s
stranglehold on us.

The Prayer of Jabez - Breaking Through to the Blessed Life, by Bruce Wilkinson (see also Secrets of
the Vine, below).
In the pages of this little book, I want to
introduce you to the amazing truths in Jabez’s
prayer for blessing and prepare you to expect
God’s astounding answers to it as a regular part
of your life experience. How do I know that it
will significantly impact you? Because of my
experience and the testimony of hundreds of
others around the world with whom I’ve shared
these principles.

Secrets of the Vine - Breaking Through to Abundance, by Bruce Wilkinson (see also The Prayer of Jabez).
If you don’t know and apply Jesus’ vineyard
teachings, you’ll never experience the abundant
life you long for. There is simply no other way.

Small Miracles  – Extraordinary Coincidences of Heart and Spirit, by Yitta H. Mandelbaum, Judith
Leventhal & Yitta Halberstam. Inspirational stories that lift women’s spirits.

When God Weeps  – Why Our Sufferings Matter to the Almighty, by Joni Eareckson Tada & Steven
Estes.
